Crewe & Nantwich AC took forty-eighty U11 & U13 athletes to compete against ten other teams at Birmingham’s National Indoor Arena. Our athletes competed magnificently, and came away with a staggering 6 gold, 10 silver and 8 bronze medals; they also managed a large number of 4th, 5th and 6th places, and many other excellent performances, including getting two teams to a number of the relay finals.

NW Sportshall Final

Our teams came home with three out of six wins at the 2012 Northwest Sportshall Final held at Robin Park yesterday. In the mornings events our U11 Boys scooped the first prize to retain the shield, whilst our U11 Girls came a brilliant second. In the afternoon our U13 Boys continued the winning success, followed by our U15 Girls. Our U13 Girls and U15 Boys came second in their competitions. There were also a number of individual event gold, silver and bronzes.

Alsager 5

Despite the harsh conditions, nearly 600 runners competed in this year’s Alsager 5on 5th February, including two of our coaches, Neil Fowler and David Dobberson. Both put in strong runs on the icy roads: Neil came in 155th (15th in the V40 category) with a time of 33:41 for the 5 mile course, and David was 184th (21st in the V45 category) some 63 seconds behind. A massive well done to our U11's who represented Cheshire at the recent Regional Final at Sportcity. The Boys came a brilliant and close second to Merseyside and the Girls came a very credible fifth. Medals at the Northern Indoor Champs

Josh Platt earned a brilliant Northen title over the weekend at the Sheffield Indoor Arena, when he took gold in U17 Mens 200m. Josh also scooped a bronze in the 60m in the same age group. Liam Clowes took an impressive silver competing as a Senior in the 200m. Jack Seddon, Ollie Conroy and Adam Howell also competed. Full results click here. Thanks to Chris for the photo.
