Join Crewe & Nantwich Athletic Club

Who can join the Club?

Anyone with a passion for athletics! The Club takes members from who are in School Year 4 and upwards, regardless of ability but centred around those that wish to compete and improve their personal performance. The Club is in association with the Cheshire Academy of Integrated Arts who run a disability athletics club. The Club encourages athletes from a young age, as it is here that essential fundamental skills are gained. However, the Club acknowledges that it is never too late to take up athletics and welcomes all new members.

How do I join the Club?

Anyone interested in joining the Club, can either come to the Club and ask for information at the Club’s Registration Desk on training nights (Tuesday and Thursday 6.00pm to 8.30pm) or preferably e-mail the Club website under the Contact Form Section. Please state the athletes name, age, school year (if applicable), athletic and other sports experience. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT YOU MAY BE ASKED TO JOIN A WAITING LIST IN ANY AGE GROUP. The Club will ask athletes to take a FREE TRAINING SESSION in the form of an ASSESSMENT SESSION with a coach to ensure the athlete is fully assessed for training and competition readiness. After that an athlete will be advised of if and when a further assessments are required. If not an athlete will be invited to join to become a First Claim Member ofthe club. Membership is finalised by simply completing an Application Form, Medical Form and Payment Slip (available at Club Registration Desk) and returning this with your payment to the Secretary. Club membership includes an England Athletics Membership that allows the athlete to compete free for the Club in any national competition (Track & Field, Cross Country, Road, Indoor and Sportshall).

Shortly after your membership is accepted by the Committee you should review the Welcome Pack and will receive confirmation of your EAA number. An EAA card is issued annually around May.

What do I need to know and do when I’ve joined the Club?

Members welcome packThere are a number of things that a new Member needs to be aware of and to do; and in the case of Junior Members, there are also a number of things the parent or guardian has to be aware of and do. This is all aimed at ensuring that the Club can make the environment safe and legal for all its members particularly its junior members.

All Members (and in the case of Juniors their parent/guardian) should:-

  • Read the  Athlete / Parent Code of Conduct Form (contained in the Welcome Pack)
  • Advise the Club of any change in their details (addresses, emergency telephone, medical details etc. as they may occur)

All Members (and in the case of Juniors their parent/guardian) should know :-

  1. The Codes of Conduct for Athletes, Parents, Coaches and Club Personnel
  2. Where and when to check-in for training registration?
  3. Where to assemble just prior and after training?
  4. Who their coach / coaches for a training session are?
  5. Who the Club Welfare Officer is and who the deputies are?
  6. Who the Club First-Aiders are?
  7. What the Club Rules are and what the track and field etiquette is?

If in doubt ask a member of the Committee at the Club at any time.
